Cold Temperatures Impact Crops

The West Coast and particularly areas of California have been hit hard by cold and freezing temperatures in recent days. This has had a huge affect on supplies of many key items including lettuces, baby greens, broccoli, cauliflower, asparagus, potatoes. and cooking greens. The cold weather has slowed the growth of many of these items and significantly tightened supplies. Even cold temperatures into Mexico have had an impact on key grow-ing regions. So far the duration of cold weather has not reached a point to where citrus is impacted, however in some citrus growing areas they are expecting deep freezes today and tomorrow which could affect loading citrus out of Northern California.
